1st week on our own

ui jieThis is day 7 without Mui Jie:

In the beginning it was return of the zombie, Noreen kept crying in the night, we tried all we learned to pacify her. But all else failed. We were really getting panic on what to do. We tried the last tactic we had in our bag. We would wake her up around 7pm and keep disturbing her when she wants to sleep. In the beginning she was feeling so frustrated that she kept crying when she was unable to sleep. But after the 3rd day it seem to work. So till today its been a week we would play and disturb her from 7pm and only around 11pm we would let her sleep, she will be so tired that Noreen will only wake up twice around 2am and 6am for feeding and changing, after that she will continue her sleep without disturbing us. This waking up twice is considered luxury to us.

Today Mui Jie came visit us, it was so thoughtful of her, and she kept nagging us for not keeping the crib tidy. We had unwashed cloths and tissue everywhere, she again start work and clean up the crib and clean up Noreen. We told her about her night crying and she said I thought I already teach you two how to handle? We look at each other and laugh, when Noreen was crying in the nite we were in panic and forgot everything she taugh us.

So Mui Jie again remind us to check whenever continous crying if her forehead and feet were feeling cold. If yes than we are to give her a quater of the Eu Yan Sang Bo Yin Dan. Means she has wind in her stomach. And we should rub some Yu Yee oil on her tummy, back and forehead. Gosh we've completely forgotten everything.

She was so kind, she even bought Noreen some cloths.

Fullmoon Gathering

Lita, Noreen, Janet, Chris, Mom, Jo and Kiki (under the table)
Noreen's Raspberry Chesscake
Noreen's present from family
Mom and Dad's first present
We gave her a cow

Today is Noreens Fullmoon, we had a simple family gathering, Mui Jie did the cooking for us. Noreen get her first present from mom and dad. I had another splitting headache today and didnt manage to snap much picture.

This also mean today is the last day Mui jie will be helping us to take care of Noreen, I told Mui Jie I'll have to move to her house.

Its been a month now and the feeling of a new born baby is still pretty new, rushing to buy things we left out, going from hyper market to hyper market looking for the cheaper diaper is a norm in my life now, I've never went near baby dept in my life and now it seem whenever I walk into carrefour or Jusco this is the first place I visit. In fact now I can memorize the price of diapers!!!

Sai Sou Day

Mama bathing Noreen with Pamelo Leaves
Mui Jie cutting Noreen's hair

This is a chinese tradition that I've never heard of, Mui Jie told us that when baby is born for the first month is pantang period very "sou" I cant seem to find this in english. So today is the day where we wash off the pantang and Noreen can go kai kai.

The ritual is very simple, everyone need to bath in pamelo leaves, this include Kiki we ask?

Noreen have her first haircut and we kept her hair in an angpow.

Noreen's catnap

Noreen catching her cat nap.

When something beautiful comes into our lives, we thank God for the blessing he had given us. Sometimes when coming into my room I see both Noreen and Lita are asleep, I stand at the door entrance looking at both of them and I feel so grateful receiving the blessing from God.

I think as human, sometimes we're too involve in our daily rat race that we;ve seriously missed out on a lot of beautiful things in life, we continue to be so busy improving our lives that we actually failed to see how wonderful ours had already been. Just looking at them at the bedside I know this is success and wealth beyond anything money can buy.

Happiness is the feeling of contentment within our hearts. Where we need not compare with others and getting that auto smile by just thinking of our loved ones. By seeing them in front of our eyes the pride and joy is true ecstasy and when cuddling them both, you know that you've finally came to a place where you can truly call your home and your own family.

Mercury Free Vaccination

I've been doing a little study on vaccination after looking at Noreens baby book schedule and realize she has to take about 15 shots till 2 years old. And I'll say its quite a shocker when I read a conspiracy theory relating vaccination and autism. The main culprit is thiomersal a mercury preservative. In the US, studies had shown that since 1990s more and more vaccine shots are require and at the same time an alarming increase in autism cases tagged behind. This pattern lead some group of people to do further research and they found that vaccine are preserved with mercury which doesnt need scientist to point you the link with mercury and brain damage.

For further studies of the said mercury poison heres the link:

http://www.nationalautismassociation.org/thimerosal.php

Anyway after being really worried I decide to call Pantai Indah and spoke to Ms.Tang, and explained to her my worries and she then help me and did some asking around, she suggest I speak to Mr. Pravin whom I think is the pharmacy in Pantai Indah.

After explaining to him that if he can help me find mercury free vaccine I would send my daughter for all the shots at Pantai Indah. He say he will help me check on my next Hep-B vac shots. After 20 minutes he called me and said he checked with a few pharmaceutical and found out that GlaxoSmithKline do produce mercury free vaccine. The product is GSK Engerix. I thank him so much for being so professional and really helpful and booked my daughters next vaccine shots with only mercury free product.

Thought there is no 100% prove that link mercury vaccines and autism, there is also no 100% prove that cigarettes causes cancer. But if given a choice I think we try to avoid as much as we can. A little research online can help a lot most time. But meantime I hope engerix doesnt use other chemical as preservative like formalin or aluminium hahahaha.

Noreen in better mood

Shes happy when she is full and clean....can't resist posting picture -

This afternoon when I placed Noreen on my lap and cuddle her, she gave me a cheeky smile, the smile melt my heart to the point that tears over flowed my eyes. The powerful effect from such a tiny baby. Her smile makes all the trouble in the world disappear in a blink of an eye. I've never felt this way in my life, I guess this is the feeling everyone had told me about, you'll know how wonderful when you've a baby of your own. I can search through all the words in the dictionary but I can never find the words that accurately express the joy in my heart. Its amazing and truly the greatest gifts from God.

Lita and Noreen

Watching Lita and Noreen makes me feel so happy and contended, I've been through a lot in life, going through multiple hard times and dissapointment sometimes to the extend I question if this life is worth all this. After I came to know Lita and now she had given me Noreen, I sincerely thank God that the journey of my life had came to this phase and I can tell myself that it was really all worth it.

I love both of them and I'm glad that God had not given me up.
