On 14 Feb a mosquito bite Noreens hand, thought it was just a normal bite so I dint put angel baby balm as she might rub her eyes or lick it. This morning it was just a normal bump when I left for work, in the afternoon Lita call me, she said Noreens hands had swollen. I rushed home and took her to the clinic.

Doc explain that when mosquito bite, they leave a puncture at the skin, and sometimes this puncture will allow bacteria to penetrate and start an infection. He gave us antibiotic and anti itch/allergy oral. Told us to stay alert if she starts a fever.

Earth mama Angelbaby bottom balm

Poor Noreen kena so many mosquito bites, so many bumps and we din know what to apply, she was itching and scratching and made cuts to her skin. I loan from my sis the Earth mama angel baby bottom balm and used it. Next day all the cuts dried up and the bumps all reducing. So went to babystore and bought myself one. Its quite costly 60ml for RM49.90 but works like a charm.

Highly recommended.

Noreen's 7 months progress

This morning when we all woke up, we saw Noreen sitting up all by herself, she can now do it on her own.

Noreen is now getting out of control, she would roll and crawl gostan, and she love going to the hard floor. We've never allowed her to be on the hard flooring as we've afraid she might slam her head against the concrete floor. But after discussin with Lita I think we just have to let her explore and knock her head sometimes or she'll never learn.

So we monitor closely as she crawl to the floor, and sure enough when she turn around she was so used to turning aggressively on the bed she hit her head bump on the hard floor, both of us just look helplessly and my heart felt so painful, but Noreen just look puzzle without any hint of getting hurt, she was more excited from her misadventure than the little bump.

Noreen's 6 months progress

Noreen is 7 months old now, she can now sit on her own without support, she is learning to crawl but doing it all the wrong way. She would stick her bum all up in the air and havent figured out how to use her hands to control forward movement.

She can now roll continuously, luckily we removed the divan and placed playing mat at all the side.

She can stand on her 2 feet but with balancing help as she cant balance on her own.

Jan 2010 update

Its time for Noreen's vaccination spree again, this round Pneumococcal Vaccine, I choosed Synflorix from glaxosmithkline. Dr. Margaret says these are thimerosal free. Noreen weight 8.11kgs and cried only a little.

She has fungal rash on her buttock for the pass 3 weeks and Dr. Margaret prescribed Zaricort on our last visit. She specifically told us to only apply it for 7 days. When the 7 days are over Noreen still had a bit of the rash and we stoppped the cream. The rash came back and we just tried to keep the area clean by using water to clean it everytime she peed.

We ask Dr and she told us we can continue the cream for max of 14 days facepalm.jpg.

When we came back, being the usual paranoia first thing I do is went online and double check if the Synflorix is really mercury free, opps no information could be found on GSK website, so I called them up and spoke to Mr. Sree the product manager, he told me he would come back to me about this. The next day he had a doctor to call me up and confirm that Synflorix is mercury free, so I think paying RM245 is worth it after all.

We change Noreens diaper from Huggies normal to Huggies Ultra, within 3 days the rash had subside and improving tremendously.

Noreen now is learning to sit, she has to use her hands to keep balance, she can grab things and is really curious, she would grab anything and put in her mouth, when we try to take it away she would cry.

She has started taking porridge yesterday, we use ikan bilis soup to cook porridge and mixed in mashed potatoes and carrots. She refuse to take in the beginning and somehow Lita manage to con her to finish her bowl.
